Capp: True redcaps are malevolent. Robots don't want humans to be malevolent. For me, they went with a combination of the Dutch (kabouter) and Cornwall version.
Capp: The robots want to be brownies. They want to remain hidden and help humans. In a countryside, they could probably get away with it. In a space station with decent inventory control, they can't.
